Advocacy Workshops on Inclusive School Meals and Vegan Options

Advocacy Workshops on Inclusive School Meals and Vegan Options

Presentation

KD Gmajna led a series of women’s advocacy workshops on Inclusive Education and Inclusive School Meals, which engaged and trained migrant women to speak up and organise around the issue of inclusive school lunches. The workshops emphasised the importance of ensuring that school meals equally consider the dietary requirements of children from diverse cultural backgrounds.

On November 14, 2024, Maja Hrovat and Dani Sušnik from the Slovene Vegan Society discussed the challenges of providing vegan school meals, shared their advocacy experiences, and highlighted the importance of changing the current school meal system, particularly from an equal rights perspective.

After a tea break, the session resumed with a workshop where participants explored three key concepts for running successful advocacy campaigns: advocacy, networking, and strategic communication.

The workshops are part of the EMV-LII project and are organised in cooperation with ADRA Slovenia, the Association for Intercultural Dialogue, and the BODE+ project.
