Change of name from Second Home - in exile to Infokolpa
Second Home was a migrant social centre operating in Rog Factory from 2016 to 2018. Due to disagreements with other groups working in squat Rog Factory, members of Second Home discontinued their activities within the Rog Factory. Leaving the premises of Rog factory also meant that there would be no option to continue activities of a social centre as we had no option of new spaces that would be available for us. When we moved out of Rog we changed the name of FB page to Second Home - in exile as the social centre was closed and members of the group were not welcome inside the Rog Factory.
Being without available space meant that would could not continue to work in form of a social centre so with we changed the focus of our main activities from integration to border monitoring and reporting. We began publicly reporting about issues of systemic violation of human rights on Slovene-Croatian border, conditions in refugee camps in Bosnia and Herzegovina and situation of refugees and asylum seekers in Slovenia. Because Second Home did not exist anymore as a social centre the members of the group adopted a new name and began working as Infokolpa. The name was chosen after the river Kolpa which is the border river between Slovenia and Croatia and has been a place of several drowning of migrants who tried to seek safety in Slovenia and were forced to seek dangerous routes of crossing because of practice of collective expulsion and systematic denial of right to denial by Slovene police.
