Global Struggles: A Discussion on Resistance

On 10 October 2024, a collective discussion on global struggles was held in Pritličje, Ljubljana. The event centred on the book Beyond Molotovs: A Visual Handbook of Anti-Authoritarian Strategies (transcript, 2024), offering a glimpse into global movements of resistance and rebellion - their imagination, struggles, and sacrifices.
The book among various struggles around the world offers selected poems from the Balkan migration route, authored by A. Nana (Infokolpa), who traversed the Route in the time of large-scale illegal pushbacks of migrants (2019).
Guests included the book’s editors, Börries Nehe and Aurel Eschmann. Hasan Alhallaq from Infokolpa addressed the genocide in Gaza and the Israeli occupation of Palestine, while Ahmed Bouldan and Asel Yeszhanova shared insights on resistance movements in Morocco and Kazakhstan, respectively. The discussion was moderated by Saša Hajzler (Institute for Contemporary History) and Katja Utroša (KDG).
The event was part of the EMV-LII Training Sessions (advocacy, public speaking).
